I live in Pine Grove and have Volcano. Overall the internet has been sub par, this coming from someone who has had Comcast and AT&T prior living in Sac.

Volcano struggles from random resets, with it being worse this last week starting on 11/10/24. And yes, I am computer savvy, so I have reset my internet from my side, I have reconnected and checked all connections, etc with no fixes.

I have been considering swapping as of late to Starlink with my current experience.

Awful company. No customer service, they lie through their teeth and charge way too much. Go with Starlink much better, don't waste your time with these thieves.

Volcano requires a land line in order to provide internet service. They charge a premium for high speed internet. They charge a premium for the long distance phone service. The cost of cable TV far exceeds the satellite competitors. The dollar signs spin off the chart. Verizon internet with satellite or streaming TV service saves a lot each month. We fired Volcano.

If zero stars were an option, I'd give zero or even a negative number. I check my upload and download speeds every day and at best they provide 10gigs. I am being charged for 50gigs. When I call to complain, they say it is my fault because I must be using too many devices at once. Nope! it measures at 10gigs even when only using a desktop no tv's, no phones or any other devices. So that is an B.S. excuse. I will bring a suit against them soon, if anyone would like to join me, let me know.

Very happy with our phone & internet service as well as the exceptional customer service I get whenever I call. The tech that came out to set up our internet was professional and very helpful, as was everyone else I've worked with. The sign up process was easy peasy, and since I called while we were still in escrow, I was able to get my installation the day of closing. We're able to stream on multiple devices, which is really nice too! When looking at new homes, we only looked kn areas that we knew had volcano service because they're so easy to work with. Very happy and will be a lifetime customer. 🙂

I'd give zero stars. This is literally the worst internet company I have ever dealt with. They try to charge people for supposed unreturned equipment, from 10+ years ago, after apparently sending it to collections, which is illegal.. and don't offer proof of their arbitrary charges..
Also to mention, they force you to have a phone line to have the Internet and then charge you for it!
We're in 2023, the PAPER application is really outdated and should be more streamlined. The whole process takes entirely too long.
Volcano has a ridiculous monopoly on some areas in the county, which makes it virtually impossible to get affordable, reliable, normal Internet access.
I wouldn't have even bothered talking to them if they weren't literally the ONLY OPTION.

The incompetence of this company is truly staggering. It is a mystery beyond words how they are still in business. It's like stepping back in time decades with the paperwork you have to fill out, literally a dozen forms or more, much of it redundant. Ask them why we still have to pay for a telephone when they have upgraded form DSL to fiber. You'll get a different answer each time and none of them make sense. I switched the service from my Mother's name to mine. I'm the home owner. Months later my mother is still getting the statement, in Florida! Their customer service is truly horrendous, so be prepared. I've called three times to get this resolved, explaining that over 4 months now I still haven't gotten a statement. They've insisted every time that it was mailed to my bay area address, as if I'm lying to them. Why would I be taking all the time and hassle, multiple times, to tell a fib. I'm now on the waitlist for Starlink. These people have no idea. The entire region is ready to abandon their service as soon as there is a reasonable alternative, and it has pretty much arrived.

If I could give them zero stars I would!

I have their service (not by choice.. MONOPOLY), for both my office and home both of which are located in Pine Grove, both of which have the same issues.

I pay them $200 a month for both of my accounts. In the city, I paid 1/4th of that for far better service.

We do not pay for cable and even if we just have 1 TV streaming Hulu or Netflix we have buffering and poor quality. During power outages forget it, their generator runs out of gas every morning around 6 am.

If you're reading reviews right now it means you're looking for new service. Sadly, this review means nothing because there are no other choices in providers. Volcano will insist that you sign up for services you do not need, you will pay high dollar for low quality service, and you will be disappointed.
