Beautiful and easily located as soon as you enter Appalachiacola is the Franklin Café. We went on the weekend between lunch and dinner, and the service was fast and thefood was pretty good. My husband said it was some of the best baked oysters he's had. The decor was slightly dated but stylish, though there was a bucket on the floor for a leak.

I would rate this place as a 3.5. I got a 3 egg omlette and put smoked gouda, Applewood smoked bacon, and country ham in the omlette. I switched out the existing side for bacon. Then I ordered a Belgian Waffle a la carte. Overall I think it is worth your while to get the Breakfast Package if you are staying at the Gibson Inn.

Just gonna say it, best damn French toast ever!

I've had a lot of French toast in my life, and Franklin's does so good I want to drive 4 hours back just to get it.

The creole eggs benedict were equally as amazing.

Atmosphere was amazing with live music playing that was perfect.

Stop into Franklin's, your taste buds will thank you.

We had a great experience here. The waitress was very attentive and polite. We had the baked classic oysters. Ended getting two orders they were so good. The only thing that was strange was lunch didn’t start until 3? We were good with this because that is when we were eating but we could have enjoyed the dinner menu as well.

Definitely enjoyed The Franklin for food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. Inside the historic Gibson Inn, it is a unique, historic place and the food is good. It’s a little more lively, of course, on Fri and Sat nights.

I met a friend at the Franklin Cafe today to catch up after a long hiatus. We met at 2 o'clock for a late lunch, and only the brunch menu was available. I ordered the crab cakes, and my friend ordered a toasted pimento cheese sandwich. Both were disappointing. I couldn't tell if the crab cakes had any actual crab meat in them. I ate one and left the other on my plate (a first for me). My friend's sandwich came with wonderfully toasted bread, but the pimento cheese inside was still cold. I won't be going back, which is a disappointment because we used to visit the Franklin for all of our special occasions.

We had our Christmas lunch here today! First time here…and one of our BEST meals out EVER! Had a sautéed flounder & fried shrimp entree, with blueberry cobbler and homemade strawberry ice cream for dessert. Everything absolutely delicious and seasoned perfectly. Will definitely remember this Christmas meal and be back again when in the area!

Fries could have been a little crispier. Crabcake was thin and not much flavor when on a sandwich. Sweet potato fries were amazing
