The permit department is terrible. Every person has a different answer for everything. Specific example, we called needing to cancel a permit (that we worked for weeks to get) - we were told to do it over email by filling out a form. Called the next day to see why it wasn’t cancelled and was told me we needed to come in office and have the form printed out, filled out and notarized. Then the permit was canceled out of nowhere with no communication. My husband had to take time off work THREE seperate times to drive from Navarre to Milton. Please just communicate better with each we other and with your customers

I hardly ever rate any governmental agency and a majority of the time you unfortunately speak to someone who is short and rude with you when trying to obtain information. I contacted the Santa Rosa County Development Services trying to get some information about what steps me and my wife needed to take as we are developing some land on her families property. We spoke with Cindy and I wish I knew her last name but I did not catch it. Cindy went out of her way to provide detailed information and educate us on the entire process that not only involved her department but other government agencies as well. Cindy treated us like we were the most important people she had talked to all day and although we were not sure where to get started in our endeavor she made it clear the steps we needed to take. She was respectful, and professional and because of her we now know what we need to do to get started. It’s so easy to get aggravated with people calling asking what you may think are silly questions but these days it’s hard to find someone working at a government office who makes you feel appreciated when you call. I am not sure what position Cindy holds at this agency nor do I know her personably but what I can say to the leaders of this agency is Cindy is representing you well and me and my wife are forever grateful for her kindness and patience. Thank you Cindy and god bless.
