I know this is a long review but if you are looking for a life long business partner and tax expert, read my personal experience. Susan Carter CPA, P.A. is simply the BEST CPA and business solutions expert I have ever met. I have worked with numerous tax and business professionals over the last 17 years. When I came to them after getting a recommendation from a colleague, I explained my current tax situation that spanned over 4 years. Within 2 weeks, my issues were resolved, the major stress I had went away, and a plan was put into place for the future. I not only have an affordable attorney that she recommended to set up my PLLC, but she also has a financial planner that set up my retirement so I don't have to worry about retirement. Susan Carter and her team (Dutchen was the first person I talked to in the office) have made me feel like I was their only client. Every single question I had was answered in a way that made sense and didn't make it more complicated. She even drew out my plan on a white board while we were talking so I could see it!!! After my third meeting, Susan not only saved me THOUSANDS in taxes and cut my tax rate IN HALF, but she also provided a business solution that helped me grow my small business *230%* in revenue in just 1 year. I'm not overstating that percentage either. She built up my confidence on top of everything else and over the years has become family to me. Her fees are affordable, her team is one of a kind, and no matter where I am or what I'm doing, she will have my business for the rest of my life.

I have been a client of Susan Carter, CPA, for approximately 3 years now and I absolutely love the staff. I have worked with Dutchen, Susan, Carla and John personally. Dutchen is usually the first person I see when I walk in the door and she always greets me and my husband with a big smile and greets us using our names and even hugs! They all have taken the time to not only know us as clients but also personally. Dutchen knows some of my health issues and always asks how I’m feeling, but also asks me about my grand baby (my heart and hhope for a great future, and wants to see recent pictures.

They are experts when it comes to our tax returns and any special issues related to our returns. We recently had a bad experience with IRS regarding our 2015 taxes where the IRS had not reflected our payment made and we started receiving threatening letters and Susan jumped right on it and had the mistake corrected after several hours and several IRS agent phone calls. We were relieved and so thankful to Susan. However, about a month ago, we received two different letters from the IRS regarding the same issue, that now included exorbitant penalties and interest. One department was not communicating with the others. I have a serious illness that is exasperated by stress. As you can imagine, I went into a full blown panic attack that made me go into a major flare of my illness. These flares may put me down for days and sometimes weeks. I called Dutchen, one of the sweetest, most compassionate and caring women I know, and she assured me that I need not worry and that Susan would take care of it and she would keep me updated. As busy as they are, Susan again got through after many transfers and much frustration and hours on the phone, to an agent that could help her. She personally called me yesterday to inform me that she got the issue corrected and that we should not get any more scary letters from the IRS and that we did not owe the IRS any money. Thank you Jesus! She was my angel of the day and I feel so blessed to have her on my side! Then Dutchen called me this morning to follow up about Susan’s actions and asked if I felt better and asked about my grandson. She didn’t have to do that but that’s the kind of people they are! The treat their clients like family. They genuinely are compassionate people who care about their clients BUT are also experts in the accounting field. They back up their work with real guarantees and they don’t hesitate to help you no matter how busy they are (which is all year long!).

I have dealt with many accountants over the years, but by far Susan Carter, CPA, P.A. and the entire staff are the best! I will continue to use them for as long as I can. Their fees are very competitive but their customer service is immeasurably awesome. I pray for them and thank God for them as they truly exemplify what expertise and excellent customer service is.

I recommend them to everyone I meet and I promise you won’t be disappointed in them.

I know this review is long but I just can’t say enough good things about them.

I'm in the military and was referred by a coworker. My taxes are not that complicated to file but my experience with Susan Cater's firm was way below sub par. In the end I did not end up filing with her but if I did I would have owed the IRS over $6K plus $450 for her service. My new guy is a prior IRS auditor and now I'm getting a $3500 return....that's a $10K swing!!!!! First, she charges you a $200 retainer right off the bat (Should have realized what was going on right there, and I'll never see that money again). Somebody from her firm prepares your taxes but with almost no communication (I got 1 phone call). If you try to add any additional deductions during your meeting with Susan then that's a $75 additional charge... Bottom line is she will nickel and dime you and her firm does not fight for you. If something is in the grey or she is unsure and she may have to fight for you then she won't touch it. Same service as H&R Block but way, wayyy more expensive. She wanted to charge me $175 to do my son's taxes...he's in high school and the money from his return is less than what she was going to charge him (Got his done for free from the USO). Unless you light your cigars with $100 bills then find someone who is in your corner. I feel like I was a mark in a con game. I did hear her advise for future tax strategies are awesome but I’m not sticking around to find out.

I use Susan Carter as my accountant for my small business and I love her services. She is very patient explaining the proper use of quickbooks and answering all of my tax questions. The whole office staff is very professional as well. I highly recommend her for small business accounting!
