Fred Calawor was recommended to me by a friend who spoke very highly of him, both personally as well as professionally. I'm a first time pistol owner having had some experience with shotguns and rifles.

I first met with Fred to get acquainted and so he could determine what the best course of training would be for my situation. I was looking for home defense type training as well as familiarization with my pistol.

I was very impressed with Fred's knowledge, his ability to listen and his humble yet intense approach to the value of correct firearms training. Absolutely no used car salesman here!

Fred came to my house the next day for what would turn out to be 3 hours of thorough hands-on training. He has a keen sense of awareness in terms of how to tailor the direction of training as well as correcting any potential bad habits!

I can't overstate how thorough this training was. I had no idea going into it that there was so much to consider for becoming a responsible and informed gun owner.

I will be going to the range with Fred in the next couple of weeks and will update my review afterwards. I'm sure it will be as exciting and informational as the initial training.

So, if I had to sum it up, I'd say WOW - what an exceptional value!
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Fortitude Defensive to individuals, couples or groups of people who want the best training for any type of firearm.

Worth the investment! Fred was very professional, focused on safety, and reinforced proper technique while remaining patient and encouraging. My wife, my 15 yr old daughter and I had his hand gun training and we feel more comfortable, confident, and safe in handling firearms. My wife had never touched a fire arm in her life. They made her uneasy and she didn't like them in the house. I could have taught her to shoot but being a former Marine, I know how bad habits can develop. So i called a professional to give her a class. Mr Calawor taught her gun safety first. Within 2 hours had her performing drills. As my 8 month pregnant wife dropped mags and was double tapping rounds into the black at 10 yards we could only laugh. As if she had been around fire arms all her life. Now my only problem is that she now wants her own hand gun and a AR.
