As a realtor I don't comment on the experiences I have with builders because I feel like it isn’t actually mine to comment upon. While I am along for the ride, the true and actual emotional and financial investment belongs to my client and I am merely there to try and ease any burden.
That changed this spring when I became a client to DR Horton while building in the Crystal Bay Estates development in Grant Valkaria. Every step of the way has been incredible. It may be important to note that “incredible” to me is quality, communication and education. To me, these are the most important aspects when building a new home
Our journey began with the company’s sales rep Natalie Carter. Her pride for the company shines and she rises to that level in her service to her clients. There was never a point that we did not know what to expect next, and all questions were responded to quickly. If she didn’t know the answer she connected us to the correct person. When I say connected I don’t mean she emailed us a phone number, she made sure that the person with the answer reached out to us. We have been in our beautiful home for two months and I still rely on her for answers about the neighborhood and HOA and, I have to say, her dedication to this neighborhood and her client remains steadfast.
Each home has a building superintendent. Ours was Neil. It was his job to make sure everything was being done on schedule and according to plan. He is also our contact should a problem arise the first year. I spoke with him, but didn’t actually meet him until our first walk through where anything that needs to be repaired before closing should be identified. He actually identified more than I did. We did have a couple things that went on a thirty day punch list, but Neil stayed on top of those things so it was not a concern for us at all. He is also the person that teaches you how to operate your home. He returned three times to show me how to set up the irrigation system (not because there was anything wrong with the irrigation system) and each time he showed up with patience and a smile.
We have a lot of builders in the county building beautiful homes just like the one we built here. What sets DR Horton apart are the special people you get to work with who feel like you are special too.
