We recently embarked on the journey of building our dream home with America's Home Place in Blairsville, GA, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. As complete novices in the home building process, we were initially apprehensive, but the team at America's Home Place made everything incredibly easy and clear.

From the very beginning, they guided us through each step, whether it was financing, designing, or building. Their expertise and patience were evident, and we felt supported throughout the entire process. Now that we are in the actual building phase, despite living two hours away, Andrew has been exceptional in keeping us updated. He sends us videos and photos of the progress each week, sometimes even several times a week, which has been incredibly reassuring.

Cathy in the Blairsville office has also been a tremendous help, always ready to answer our questions whenever we call. The entire staff, including the crew building our house, has impressed us with their professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail. Everything is always neat and clean, and the build quality of the house has exceeded our expectations.

We are particularly grateful for the advice and insights provided as we progressed through the design and build stages. Andrew's fantastic layout of our land and the perfect placement of the house have maximized our privacy, lot usage, and the view. Overall, we have been very impressed with America's Home Place and highly recommend them to anyone looking to build their dream home.

They are currently building our fabulous home. Andrew (Project Manager) is the best! We are impressed with the quality and craftsmanship. Andrew keeps us updated constantly. He makes the best tour videos. Everyone at the Blairsville office has been superb! Cathy, Justin, Amy, etc. Can’t wait to see the finished product, so far is an A+!

I met with Heather from AHP, after meeting and talking with three other builders, and was feeling a bit overwhelmed and underwhelmed.
Heather was so welcoming and explained the process, which was so very helpful. They gave me a folder of things I need to know and have done before the build, and even gave information on financing. They are very upfront about pricing, which was not my experience with the other builders. I left out of there feeling so much better about the process. Will definitely work on my “homework”, and will be back soon to start the process. Thank you so much Heather for the wonderful experience and support. - Kathleen

My husband and I have had property for over 15 years and when the time was right for us to finally build our dream home we could not find a builder. Friends in the area were in the process of building and recommended America’s Home Place. The initial process was a little frustrating. We chose a plan and at our first appointment, we discussed what we were looking for. It took over a week to get the quote then the sticker shock had us reconsidering giving up on our home all together. We were disappointed in the take it or leave it attitude we received but then again there was no high pressure salesperson breathing down our necks either. After we nixed a few things and went with another plan we were able to get our dream within our budget. We did not like how much excavation was going to cost and AHP charged an additional 18% of the excavation cost to work with their excavator. We told them we couldn’t justify that and they said they would work with an outside excavator of our choosing. Whew! We worked with Kathy for color selections, cabinets, floors, and counter tops, she was very patient with us. Kathy was also very gracious and helpful when I would call later because we changed our minds on something or wanted to add windows. We had several change orders after the final plans were drawn and we were never charged a fee for making those changes.
Once all the financing and the final plans were set, we broke ground. One thing we were expecting, probably because of fixer upper tv shows, that AHP does not offer, was a virtual walk through after the final plans were completed. That would have really helped us to visualize what everything was going to look like a head of time and to gauge the size of the rooms better. We would have made a few upgrades with the master bathroom had we been able to see a full 3D view prior to ground breaking.
We were introduced to our project manager, Andrew, who we cannot say enough good things about. We lived 9 hours away and could not be there very often and he was wonderful with explaining every step and communicating updates. One thing AHP did not do as a standard practice was insulate/sound proof between interior walls and the ceiling, Andrew suggested we install rock wool ourselves before they installed the drywall. We are so glad he suggested that. It was easy to do and so worth it. We would get updates from Andrew several times a week with pictures of the progress. Because Andrew would explain every step of the process, we never felt like we had to micro manage anything. From start to finish was almost 8 months. We love our new home. We are extremely satisfied with the quality of the materials and how structurally sound our home is.

We are coming down the homestretch on our house build. The people at Americas Home Place have been incredibly efficient and cooperative. Jason, our project manager, and Cathy, the office manager, have made it an absolute pleasure to go through the building process. They have made great suggestions and we used all of them. They listen to our requests and tell us what makes sense and what doesn’t. Jason has been exceptionally communicative as we move through the build. We cannot recommend them enough. It’s as close to a custom home build as you can get without spending twice as much!
