Continuous disappointment…. I recently made my first and last purchase from San Antonio Lumber. Here’s why - I hope this helps someone else…

Wrong Items Delivered with a charge to pick them up…
The 2x6x12’s that I ordered ended up being 2x6x10’s, 2 feet short, stopping a time sensitive project in its tracks. When I called they did offer to pick them up but wanted to charge me to pick up their mistake.

Poor Quality with No Customer Service
The 2x6 special order tongue and groove lumber I ordered was cracked and curling. A great deal of the pieces were missing the grooves or only had partial grooves so the boards would not stick together. When we called about this we were told email photos with zero response or even acknowledgment.

No Follow Through With What They Say They Will Do
I have asked for a receipt multiple times for the lumber charge as well as proof of refund for the incorrect boards. Still nothing.

I emailed them, as they requested, photos of the defective items that they delivered, again no response.

I understand that no one is perfect but I have reached out multiple times to get this fixed. They have not followed through once or even communicated. A project on a deadline has started and stopped again and again - I wish I knew what to do to get this resolved.

I should have read reviews before I came out to my local lumber store. Not only do you need to jump through hoops to use a credit card, but their customer service is rude as hell. And I guess I dodged a bullet, seeing as the quality of what I was about to order is terrible. Back to the big box stores, at least they won't insult me for their poor communication.

Bought 2 2x6x10ft PT lumber for boat trailer bunk boards. Kids in the lot pulled 2 live edge lumber pieces (not square ore straight) totally useless for what I needed. I asked if they could help me with finding some that were at least straight.. they told me to findthem myself. When I did, the.manager came over and was rude with me stating " we are Not a you pick lot". When I told him that the kids working for him told me to find what I wanted. The manager told me that "I needed to take what they give me and leave. Or get your money back". Went to home depot and got what I needed. I live a few blocks away and wanted to help the local company , knowing the Schrader family. After being treated this way, I will NEVER go to this store again.

Do you even check your drivers ability while hauling? Driver blew past a yield while people were merging on Highway he almost ran multiple cars of road they had to drive on shoulder to avoid getting hit. Got it on dash.

Again San Antonio Lumber Co comes through for me. Yes a few years ago I purchased my lumber package for my new home through them and was thrilled with the price, the delivery and the customer service ... the contractors were thrilled at the lumber quality and I was happy with the price. So helping my daughter with a little remodeling project, I needed a set of doors for the laundry room. Again a great quote (and I was spending a lot less money) free delivery and they beat the time estimates on when I could expect the doors from their shop.

If you aren't using San Antonio Lumber for your project you are missing out on the best customer focused lumber yard around!!

Awesome place to get everything you need to keep your house in great shape! The staff is very friendly and know how to help. I'd drive 50 miles out of my way to go there instead of the Big stores.

Just when I thought customer service was dead in this country along comes San Antonio Lumber company. I can fix most things myself however I have zero skill with lumber. It is a true skill.
I had a door the builder installed swinging to the right which covered my light switches.I was amazed the big box stores had no way to help me on this except perhaps trying to find a matching door and the swung to the left and buying a whole new setup to the tune of well over a hundred dollars at least.
So I brought the door to SALC to have them reverse the hinge setup on the door and cut the hinge cutouts on the jam. I was met by Johnny, briefly explained to him that I had spoke to Miguel and was told SALC could take care of it. (Called others and no luck) Johnny immediately knew what needed to be done and jumped right on it and in the process we agreed to have him build the entire frame, hinges and trim so all I would have to do was nail it in when I got home all for less than 50 bucks, He probably spent a good 45 minutes on it to..
I am not sure Miguel's role he may be the manager he showed up introduced himself as the person I spoke with on the phone earlier that day, he turned to Johnny (two Johnny's, this one had glass's) then went over it with Johnny.
Either way Johnny knew what I wanted. Miguel was very friendly, professional, and customer orientated. I will now go their for all my lumber needs. You should check it out. It appears they can do just about anything with doors and lumber that the big box stores fall short of.

Love San Antonio Lumber. They always have the best prices on everything! They always beat TSC, Lowes, and Home depot. The staff is always so helpful, plus they deliver.
