Sitio bastante chulo aunque para los españoles parecera como un pub en vez de discoteca y la musica a lo mejor no de mucho agrado ya que solo hay musica inglesa. Gente estudiante feecuenta el lugar sea el dia que sea.

Outside the front of the Empress on the opposite side of the road is the outdoor bar which has a covered roof and lots of nice seating including booths, there is a small bar and staff very helpful.

First time visit on Oct 31st good size we'll behaved crowd, the service was excellent and rather quick considering the crowd at the bar, check out the special deals on some drinks you'll be very surprised and amazed at the deals, five star reviews seems unworthy!! So it's a, platinum 6 star review from me,

Avoid this place. There are so many bars in Newcastle and there is no need to go here. Place is a dump, highly overpriced for the area and the staff are so rude.

i come to empress every saturday and i have usually never had a problem with the service and most of the staff are really nice however i was in there last saturday and i was served by a “new” worker who clearly had no idea what she was doing as i am a student i usually get 2 shots and 2 doubles for 10 pound but i was shockingly charged 27 pound for this, i was really unhappy and the women just looked at me as if i was stupid. my one star is for the kind man who gave me my money back after i told him about the situation.

It's not really my type of music but we came here a few weeks back and had a good time, room for people to dance, but also places you can sit and have a drink and a chat. The real plus to my visit though was the staff, Andrea (I think she was called Andrea!) was on the door and very professional and incredibly kind. We need more people like her working in town! It was very refreshing to see someone who genuinely cares about the safety of her customers.

Eeesh. Waited 15 years to go in here and it doesn't seem to have an identity? Lol weird decor, nothing really flowed. Oh. Bar staff let me order cocktails and then not a second later the lights went up for us to exit! We were allowed to finish but the 'party' had obviously ended. Disappointed!
