This is an attractive nursing center in a nice location with staff that care from their hearts. I would trust them with my mother and they have been kind to me since the first day I walked in the door 5 months ago. They are one of my favorite teams to visit. Following several hospital stays this year my partner was sent to EmpRes Rehab Facility several times. After her first visit she regrettably ended back at St Vincents for a severe wound infection. She was then sent to a different rehab facility, which she described as like being in a horror movie. After one night I called EmpRes and spoke to MICHELLE, the Admissions Manager and told her it was imperative that my partner "escaped" the other rehab facility as soon as possible. This entailed getting approval from her insurance company for the transfer and finding a room for her. After speaking to Michelle my stepson and I went to the facility where his mother was and told them we were transferring her out as soon as we could arrange the transfer. When I got back home Michelle called saying she had managed to arrange the transfer and Empres took her the following day. Given all the arrangements that had to be made this was a SUPER HUMAN effort!!
Once we got her back to Empres the relief was immediately obvious!
Empres had been my first experience with a physical rehab facility, and I did not properly appreciate what an EXCELLENT facility Empres is. After experiencing the other facility my opinion of EmpRes soared.
The facility itself was excellently maintained, clean and cheerful. Then there is the matter of the staff. Michelle and the resident social worker, Teresa, rate a 12 on a 10 scale. The nursing staff and supporting personnel were ALL extremely efficient and friendly. My partner received both physical and occupational therapy from an EXCELLENT staff of therapists.
The physical condition of EmpRes was only exceeded by the fantastic staff, from management to the complete staff.
No one wants to be in a care or rehab facility but if you find it necessary you can make no better choice than EmpRes! I am eternally grateful for the care that was given my partner!
(A PS, I am constantly referring to my "partner", she and I have been together for 29 years, but never married, although I don't think any legally married couple could have a better more enduring relationship!)

My mom was a resident at this location. The staff worked very diligently to make my mom comfortable and to meet all her needs. She was able to shorten her stay due to the quick progress she made with therapy. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this facility to others.

This facility resulted in a nightmare experience the family will not soon forget. There is not enough staff to respond to the care that is needed so people sit and wait in terrible pain and without help. The staff is new and inexperienced or can’t get a job elsewhere. Unprofessional to a degree of shocking. I simply asked why my mother was being left to suffer for so long and was told by a nurse that I had no respect to ask her a question like this, that she didn’t have time to deal with it and that she didn’t care if I took my mom somewhere else. I met with all of the head managers and the social worker who claimed that this was not the way they ran their facility and that they were horrified that my mom suffered so much. In the end, the card continued status quo. The doctor that over seen the patients refused to honor my mothers Neurosurgeons order to increase meds if pain was out of control. The facility smells like a cat box, has very old and broken equipment. Lastly, upon discharge the head nurse sent my mother with a photo copy of a prescription to fill at a pharmacy. No pharmacy will fill a new prescription that is a photocopy, especially it is it a controlled medication! Then she was just out of luck. We had to send an urgent message to her Neurosurgeon because she was left with only 2 days of meds. The nurse insisted that I accept her apology saying she didn’t know. It has been this way for decades. Do not bring a loved one to this place, you will regret it.

The people working at the center are extremely helpful and nice. The only problem i have are not the centers fault, but they are caused by the covid virus that has kept us all separated. Otherwise it has been a good time getting lots of rest and working with the therapist to strengthen my muscles. If I had to, I wouldn't mind coming back for more treatments.

DO NOT LET ANYONE YOU LOVE STAY HERE. They steal pain pills from the residents. Three different times by the night nurse staff. "Kiki" in particular and also an overweight older lady with gray curly hair. They would ask if she wanted a pill and say they are "going to get it and will be right back" then never come back and when she would ring for a nurse to ask where it was they would say they already gave it to her. They try and make the residents feel crazy like they are not remembering. She asked to speak to the supervisor on duty and she walked in and reached onto the floor feet from my moms bed. Trying to say my mom "dropped" it. My mom calmly tried to say she KNOWS they never came back and BOTH Kiki and the other nurse screamed at her because she was standing her ground. I've called and called and nobody ever answer the facility. There is some illegal activities going on here. Stay away from this mess.

EmpRes has done an outstanding job of protecting their staff and residents during the COVID-19 pandemic. They provided N95 masks and strict screening protocol from the beginning, and have acquired UV-C lights to sanitize our circulating air and rooms before patients arrive. Thanks for putting people first!
